Description
Writing about animals – polar bears, and penguins is here!
Are you looking for ways to help your students with writing about animals?
Are you interested in your students completing animal research projects?
Do you need a simple-to-use animal report template?
Me, too!
Students love polar bears and penguins and are always shocked to learn they don’t live together.
I created these resources to help guide my younger students through their first research projects without being overwhelmed or unsure of what information to find. This very low-prep (copy, fold, and go) report template is easy to use and keeps the students engaged with the mix of facts, diagramming, coloring, and drawing.
Students will diagram essential parts of the animal, draw and color a proper habitat, list the animal’s needs, draw and color the animal, and include the details of its life cycle. They must also show their learning by explaining if the animal would make a good pet or what people can do to help it in the wild.
Students also extend their learning by taking the information and completing a t-chart and a Venn diagram. Themed paper is also provided for students to write a comparison paragraph.

I am excited to hear how this helps in the classroom.
Studies have shown that children write more successfully when they can use the same vocabulary and schema across multiple assignments.
