Journal Writing – Morning Positivity Journal

Teachers, are you looking for a morning journal to include as part of your morning classroom routine?

Are you wondering what to journal in the morning?

Do you want a simple yet meaningful way to help your students start their day?

Me, too!

Why a journal?

I created this morning journal to be multi-purpose. Our time in the classroom is limited, and I wanted a journal that would help my students be the most successful.

The journal is created to have a new positive affirmation each week. Students can color, write, and explain what the positive quote means. Additionally, students create their own weekly goals, have a mid-week check-in, and finally, an end-of-the-week reflection. There is also space for students to reflect on their mindset, emotions, and whole health.

Our students are hurting, and self-harm is on the rise. So, I also included a portion where students can reflect on things they are grateful for each week and some events they are looking forward to in the future.

Entries can be completed quickly each morning, and the prompts and blanks help guide the student in what to write rather than have them stare at an empty page.

Included:

Each week has the following:

A unique positive affirmation to color, if desired.

A place to re-write the quote and then explain its meaning.

A place to write their weekly goal(s) and reflect on how this helps their whole health.

Mid-week check-in to reflect on mindset, the ability to meet or modify weekly goals, and a gratefulness list.

The end-of-the-week reflection allows reflection on meeting goals, memory capsules, and something they are looking forward to in the future.

Easily copy Journal entries for individual morning work pages, combine in groups for each quarter, or put them together to keep a year-long learning journal.
